Rock Intro Experience (RIE), Bukit Takun

Image
Another event deal decided a week ago through Waterfall Survivor; one of the activities parked under Learning Adventure ; and it is also one of my most wonderful outdoor activities experience in my life :) After registering, paying the deposit and kept in touch with the instructor, Chadel, I couldn't wait for the day to come! Despite being a little tired and a little muscle ache from the Tabur West hike a day before, I was not reconciled to FFK and quit! :) Another reason was because I paid for the deposit liao... RM60 wei... Since I don't know the way (and, yes, I was lazy to drive too) , our instructor, Chadel, picked me up from 1Utama, and convoyed with Hafiz, the other participant, to Rawang. Oh yes, by the way, there was three of us in the event: Participants - me and Hafiz the 'big liar' ; Instructor: Chadel. After signing the necessary waiver form, packed up gears and stuff, off we went to the challenge. Bukit Takun is a rocky hill located at Templers

Tabur West Hike

Image
**Pictures courtesy of LKK, YSL, LHY, LHC and LFS Last Sunday, I joined part of Lim Erjie's Super Rookies gang's hiking trip to Bukit Tabur West, Taman Melawati, KL. The hike started at around 6am because we wanted to chase the sun rise at the 'sun rise platform' or something like that. Clever me, although the itinerary stated that headlamp is a MUST , still, I thought everyone brought it except me would be enough. ! BIG mistake ! I had to depend on the light of the person behind me to watch my way, and followed the footsteps of the person in front of me in case I mis-stepped to the wrong place. Summore those people who lead the way was the super 'geng' type, so they ascended faster than a speed bullet. -_____- Challenging... Finally, ... ^We arrived!! ...but no any sign of sun coming out, haze and cloudy sky. No luck for us that morning as the clouds totally blocked the sun, the only thing could be seen was the rays 'struggling' their w

Batu Berangkai & Salu Waterfall, Kampar

Christmas day celebration by waterfall, such a wonderful idea. :) Although I don't celebrate Christmas... It was a trip deal between me and brother Chin, the uncle who has been luring me in joining the Waterfall Survivor Committee for some times, and I 'successfully' luring my sisters and a friend to join me along. The location was at Kampar, and visited two waterfalls. 9 cars convoyed from Sg. Buloh overhead restaurant and headed towards Tapah toll exit. Out first stop was Batu Berangkai Waterfall, located not too far from the toll exit, and the trekking part was slightly easy, except the narrow road part. ^Batu Berangkai waterfall stolen from Chin's FB album There's no trekking needed to arrive at this waterfall. The water is crystal clear, the air is fresh, it's just nice, except for the weather that fluctuates quite frequently, so we were advised to not swim. ^The spirit of taking nice pictures could never be ignored lah ~ LoL stolen from Chin's FB albu

Outdoor Activities Are FUN!!

Image
Have been going out for outdoor sports and fun for 2 days. I didn't count the Salu and Batu Berangkai waterfalls trip as an outdoor activity though because it's more like a hiking challenge for my car, not me. For me, it's a 'MAKAN' trip :) Tabur West hike was great! It's been forever since I last had such challenging outdoor fun. The wake-up-at-4.40am part was quite suffering, the ascending and descending part lagi suffer, but the scenery and knowing new friends pay it all. Friend thought I spent the rest of the evening sleeping, we went to sing K instead. Haha! Rock climbing at Bukit Takun today was great too! It's something I done for the first time in my life, and the experience is priceless! There's 2 of us in the group: me and Hafiz from Negeri Sembilan (who works in JB), and Chadel as our instructor. I ended up with painful thigh, sore shoulder and arms, 2 leeches bite marks, and bruises and cuts all over my legs and some on my elbow. Just

Christmas Eve Korean Food Fest in Dae Jang Gum

Image
The other day, Chai Ching wanted to try out Korean food, so we arrange a 'chang-toi-giok' dinner at a Korean restaurant in SS2, but it was too early that the restaurant didn't open yet, so we changed our plan to 大长今 Dae Jang Gum in Seksyen 14. Since we were the first customers at the time (not even 6pm yet! :p Early dinner) , and both of us were first-timers in a Korean restaurant, the waiter patiently introduced us the menu and recommended on how to order, what's the famous orders etc. Flipping and tapping the menus for thousand times, we finally settled with 2 dishes of BBQ meat and a spicy seafood noodle. ^Sliced pork!!! Love the pinkish colour of the meat. Yum! One nice thing about it was the cooking was done by the waiter and waitress, so we can just hold our chopsticks up and wait to attack the food! :) Just seconds after we rambled about the overpriced dishes, the waiter and waitress served a full table of side dishes for the BBQ. There's about more-than-ten

The Interview Sucks

Image
Yesterday's interview was a tragic/dramatic one, because: 1. I used 30 minutes to go to Putrajaya from PJ, and lost in Putrajaya for 45 minutes. -___- Why on earth they don't want to use the almighty U-turns on the road system!? 2. The panels are 'obviously' not from engineering background. 3. Taking your First Degree and further your Master or PhD in the same university (note: applicable for the 'not-so-famous' public universities only) is not a wise choice (or so I interpreted from what the panel was trying to say). Or, in other words: You are either stupid enough to not choosing those prestige Uni; or your Uni sucks. 4. I'm a Chinese, I shouldn't have dark complexion, and my kelate sucks. (Yes, they DID say that. I wonder if it's because they're just too bored of all those presentation or ... 人身攻击?) 5. I failed to explain the novelty of my project in one nice sentence. 6. I can't answer who is the Minister of Science, Technology & In

Sweats

I am super sleepy now but I need to wait for my hair to dry because it's not good to sleep with wet/damp hair (or so I heard) and I don't have hair dryer here at SS2 house. Sweating is fun! Especially when I sweats from sports. It makes me 很有成就感 although the odor is not pleasant at all. It's been awhile since I last touched my badminton racket. Blame me for being not 'open' enough to randomly join any badminton group in Perlis or Kangar. The session was suggested by an old buddy friend. Asked the UniMAP buddies to join along, met another 'older' friend at court, Devince aka Ricky who I knew in LYN. The badminton session was at a new place (for me at least), Sunway South Quay. Nice ambience, but the building structure was not to my liking, can feel the wind circling around the courts. When I saw the crowd, I immediately told myself:" Gosh, I am so totally out of this Klang-Valley badminton world. " People who knew me through badminton,

Activities and stuffs

Image
The main purpose of going to KL next week is for the NSF interview, but the rest of the time has been filled with activities and stuff! :) Healthy activities though, like few badminton sessions, waterfall trekking and picnic in Kampar with the waterfall survivors warrior (FINALLY!) , and rock climbing experience organized by the same group but I think conduct by different people . Hehe I am so bloody excited! I've missed badminton for about a year, and my hands and rackets itch like hell; I'm a big big BIG fan of waterfall, Chin gohgoh introduced me the waterfall savior group months ago, and I always anxiously looking at their activities in my FB's Events tab but I couldn't join as I'm at the Far Far Away Kingdom; and rock climbing is something I wanted to try long long time ago, and to prepare myself for the KK trip next April. AH I just can't wait! :)) ************************************************ Extra Pictah Time: 1. Well I think I'm gonna wear li

Cheap Food + Home Alone + Crowded Cluster

Image
Besides being a boring place, there's one thing I love about Perlis is the cheap food! Chinese food to be precise, zap fan literally. ^Both are RM3! Do you believe it? 2 veggie + 1 meat! Yum! *********************************************************** Auntie Hong came back home last Saturday for a wedding dinner, then off she went to her mother's house the next day and to Singapore that night. Before she went off, she gave permission for me to use her motorbike too. Haha! So now I get to use her bike 'legally' and watch her Astro! :) The other day, I planned to wash the filthy bathtub. It's quite odd about the filthiness of the water because it's different from any other kind of filthiness I've ever seen. (Helped Auntie Hong to clean the bathtub few times when she's not around) When I took a scope of water, it freaked me. The red small lines were actually worms!! I don't really know what type of worm it is and don't know where they come from,
