2D1N Teluk Intan Foodie + Wedding Trip

Image
I admit the dual-lingual post is just to boost my reader statistics lol. Please bear with me. Last weekend, me and Wendy (and Jayden, her 9mo son) went for a 2D1N trip to Teluk Intan, Perak for our housemate, Nad's wedding. The main agenda was the wedding, the next important mission was of course the food lah!! My responsibility for this trip was a rather big one (or I just perasan you don't say), because we have a 9 month-old toddler along who still is recovering from his fever, and I am the main planner for this trip! Woah I haven't do such thing for as long as I can remember since I've been together with Hon coz that's his thing! I felt kinda nervous, with a kid summore. I viewed it as some sort of training for myself haha! Since Nad's Akad Nikah or wedding solemnization was on Friday 3pm, we departed from Perlis that morning assuming we manage to catch that time. WTF Google Map your 4 hours plus ETA cannot trust one! We planned to depart at 8am, but ...

Siamese Friend's Wedding

Image
Attended Siamese friend, Toh Ah Ee's wedding in Padang Sera, Kedah. It should be 20 minutes journey from my place, but because I was not familiar with that place, I got lost a little while, luckily managed to find her place after all. One thing I love so much about a Siamese wedding, or, should I say, a village-style wedding is that, they serve food in this way... ^ This way They will serve plates and plates of dishes onto the table with various kind of dishes and a soup. It's not only for wedding, but funeral, God worship event and many more. I used to attend events with this kind of food serving many times in Grandma's place (one of the reason is because she was super VVIP in her village and we always get invited) , and even be PART of the event too. This requires a large number of man power to always check on each table for the dishes and rice and water and this and that, kept us busy all time. Time has changed, and honestly, I never came across this for... let's see...

Cousin Chun Gor's Wedding

Image
My cousin, Tan Wei Chun, or we call him Chun Gor, was married on the first weekend of June. It was initially a predetermined and confirmed plan (on my side), after finished everything in the Uni, going back, plans for the following weeks and month while waiting for the final semester result and the reply of the Master's applications to come out. Then, suddenly, the topup course issue surfaced. So the plan was partially jammed. Luckily, I insisted on going back too. Haha. Anyway, back to the story. The '出门' was on Friday morning. We were told to be at the grandpa's place at 7am, and luckily we didn't, because the 新娘车 would only depart at 10am. Bloody.... ^Us in front of the room ^新娘车 ^Heng-Dais... It was quite a chaos at our place. Too many people with too many 'their own' rules and regulations and traditions really didn't help much in this kind of situation at all. Headache. Even me, the innocent not-so-related-and-definitely-not-VIP person also coul...

Tawau trip (18/2/2010 - 21/2/2010)

Image
It's been a great trip! :) Despite unable to spend the whole CNY week at my hometown, I'm glad I was there with my bestest besties for moral and physical support (bullying groom and hengdai part) in her wedding. :) I took the night bus on 17th from Kota Bharu to KL, had a shower in KL Sentral, some refreshment McD breakfast, then headed to the airport by airport coach. I was at the airport early, so I tried to look for a spot to waste my time while waiting for Shien's flight to arrive from Kota Bharu. Unfortunately, KLIA doesn't have Starbucks or Coffee Bean or something like that, so this was where I went. ^Burger King! The fries was nice btw :) Boarded the plane at 2.30pm, yet the plane was delayed because Engine no.2 was broken!! That's what the captain said, according to Audrey, Jas's sister-in-law. Oh, btw, we boarded the same flight with Jas's brother and his family :) ^The awesome bird's-eye's view of Putrajaya We arrived Tawau at about 5pm ...
