Kejohanan Badminton Tertutup UniMAP 2015

Image
This happened few weekends ago. I joined the 'almost' same event last year , and this time, Siew Ching cancelled the Women's Double and decided on the Mixed Double category instead. When I got the news, I asked around for a partner until Faiq, a buddy whom I played badminton with in Kuala Perlis asked if I'm interested to partner up. Of course I am!! ^^ The tournament was on Sunday, and I started to feel some tingling pain on my right elbow, my dominant hand, during a badminton session on Wed. I suspect it was a 'Tennis Elbow' injury that I got from intensive training (which is not so intensive anyway) - which turns out it was probably from the heavy lifting on Tues in the gym, I lifted heavier than I usually did that day and my forearm swayed. I went to UniMAP clinic to get the letter for physiotherapy session, received some treatment along with a hotpack and rested since then. The tournament started at 1pm. It was a lot more fun as compared to last...

Kejohanan Badminton Tertutup UniMAP 2014

Image
Yesterday, I joined a badminton tournament organized by Miss Siew Ching. She generally (and I think literally) is in-charge of all sports related activities in UniMAP, and it's only a handful of Chinese staff so yeah, people knows her haha. Two weeks ago, Mogan, a friend's friend who now joins our Wed badminton session which makes him my friend, contacted me and informed me about this tournament. I was told there might be a prize for the winner wubwub! There's only two categories: men and women double, so if I wanna join I have to find myself a partner. Now THAT's a problem. If it is to find a guy partner for mixed double, I have so many I need to think of excuses to say 'no' to some without hurting their feeling (sangat perasan I am... pardon me); but if it is to find a girl partner for women double, oh gosh I really need connection coz it's just so hard to find a sporty girl around here!!! How comes you girls no like sweating one!??! Luckily, not rea...

London Olympics 2012 - Badminton & Other games

I believe all badminton fanatics (and DLCW fanatics) eagerly anticipated the final match between Lin Dan and Lee Chong Wei, and you have your own after-match feeling and expression and comments, so I leave it for you. I watched the match at Har Ji's place, another badminton kaki and fanatic. It's fun to watch it with badminton group/pals, there and then you can learn and discuss about the way of playing better badminton, and admire how awesome their skills and consistency are... A friend asked whether I am disappointed or unfortunate about LCW's loss. On my POV, that loss is regrettable, especially the rubber game, but NOT disappointed. LCW played definitely better than he was in 2008 Beijing Olympics, and this time, his facial expression was way better. So many times we could see that LD frowned, sighed and yelled disappointingly when he did mistakes, but not to LCW. He looked calm, focused and determined. Anyway, things that caught my attention are the after-match...

Jack-sitting + Uber & Thomas Cup

Theresa was away for a trip, so I was 'in-charge' of Jack-sitting. Theresa sms-ed me about Jack's depression when they were leaving the house, so me, the comforter, to the rescue after I finished my furbrats' stuff. (Oh, btw, lil Moz suffered a minor diarrhea few days back, causing the foul-smelling bedding and it's totally unpleasant, but luckily he was all good after a day of mushy poos) Jack is always a darling. He got all excited and jumping and running around the place when I came. I brought along my cross stitch kit to spare the time. No laptop this time since the screen was faulty and there's no way I brought along the monitor and stuff. Too troublesome! Although it's a free-and-easy weekend, but there's still a challenge for me. Morning: wake up at 8am to let Jack out for pee-pee time; brush teeth wash face; back home to settle the furbrats' meal and bedding cleaning; back to KP for Jack. Evening: let Jack out for pee-pee time (if appl...

Steamboat + Badminton Match vs Paper

Yesterday we had a tiny steamboat gathering at the restaurant near my old neighborhood. It's some sort of pre-farewell dinner for the MSc students who are submitting their thesis already. The food was okay, ate a lot of grilled/fried fillet as the beef and chicken slices were a little too meaty and hard. Stuffed myself with a lot of veggie, fishballs, white and black fungus, mushrooms and other things too. I was so full until the throat! Slowpoke me, I wasn't aware at all that there's World Badminton Championship going on until I saw some posts on FB news feed about the live thingy, and the night was the final matches of all categories, and of course, our dearly Dato Lee Chong Wei was playing against his all-time rival Lin Dan. It's been a while since I last watched a badminton match with a group of friends/people, and it's really fun. The restaurant was full of people, squeezing their eyes to get a better look at the 32" TV. We sat at the most behind and...

Sweats

I am super sleepy now but I need to wait for my hair to dry because it's not good to sleep with wet/damp hair (or so I heard) and I don't have hair dryer here at SS2 house. Sweating is fun! Especially when I sweats from sports. It makes me 很有成就感 although the odor is not pleasant at all. It's been awhile since I last touched my badminton racket. Blame me for being not 'open' enough to randomly join any badminton group in Perlis or Kangar. The session was suggested by an old buddy friend. Asked the UniMAP buddies to join along, met another 'older' friend at court, Devince aka Ricky who I knew in LYN. The badminton session was at a new place (for me at least), Sunway South Quay. Nice ambience, but the building structure was not to my liking, can feel the wind circling around the courts. When I saw the crowd, I immediately told myself:" Gosh, I am so totally out of this Klang-Valley badminton world. " People who knew me through badminton, ...

2010 Thomas Cup Final : CHN vs IND

Since I talked about Semi Final, takkan I don't talk about Final right? And yes, it's a bit late, so? I watched the final match at the smelly hostel's TV room. Live streaming and maxis really don't love me I think, the sound was smooth but the screen was total blank. Sienness overload. Plus, I spent about 10 minutes walking around the hostel compound to look for another TV room, because the previous TV room which was just two houses away from mine was cleared. Then ended up at another block and the room was super smelly with cats' urine. Just imagine how horrible it is!! -____- And the TV screen was broken, the display was blurry, totally. Beh tahan to the max. And, I didn't watch Uber Cup Final, but the fact that Korea won the cup for the first time certainly made me regret for not watching the game. Oh well~ ************************************ LD vs TH: Yo, Taufik was way underperformed, and, for me, his performance was worse than our Datuk!! -___...

2010 Thomas Cup Semi Final: CHN vs MY

I was disappointed. I couldn't watch it through live streaming site (I guess because too many users at that time) , so I went to a food stall nearby hostel with large projector screen to have dinner and watch the game. It's not really 'intentionally' go outside to watch, I have to eat anyway right... *********************** LCW vs LD: So many years, so many head-to-head matches, it still proves that LD is LCW's biggest challenge that has yet to be beaten. The first set was quite OK (for me lah), despite some mistakes here and there. During the second set, even the pakcik of the stall also watch until beh tahan. There were huge disparity of facial expression between those two players: LD with his lansi and proud and confident smile; LCW with his 'kan ni na 又 out!' look. Dude, the expression itself also lose big time liao. On more thing is that, at some point, it was so obvious that the other half part of the court was empty, but LCW just kept on givi...

Kejohanan Badminton Terbuka UniMAP

Image
Last week En. Shahril FYP supervisor aka foster father asked me to be his partner under the mixed double category for UniMAP badminton tournament, and since I wouldn't be going anywhere, I agreed. The tournament was held at the badminton court at the corner of the road near to UniMAP Kapitol Hall. The court is nice, the only bad thing about the hall is that, limited parking. En Shahril's mother took leave to come from SP to watch her sons' game too. What a supportive mom she is! :D We lose during quarter final, lack of training I suppose, and of course, inexcusable and unforgivable careless mistakes I've made throughout the game. Short court and serve mistakes!?!??! If it was volleyball training loooong ago, I would be yelled by my coach with vulgars and sorts ady. Haih... ^The blue shirt player is En Shahril's brother. Anyway, I had a fun time. :) Sweat is fun! Summore can see some good looking male players, not too bad lah~

Sport I Love

^Left: Apacs EdgeSaber 9, 1 month old Right: Impact n-tech TI 38K, 3 years old ^Yonex tak-tau-apa-model , 2 years old Had a great game with the technicians and staffs and my foster father En. Shahril today :) I've finally had a chance to try out my newly purchased Apacs ES9. Performance quite ok, can do baseline stroke without much power consumed, but the YangYang grip is a little too slippery and thin, and my palm sweat a lot. So might consider changing a new grip instead, Fisher maybe? Hmm... Anyway, I'm happy with the new racket :) The RM100 deal is worthy~! I thought ES9 is a super light racket, surprisingly, the Impact seems to be lighter than Apacs. Hmm.. Then good lo, now I have different rackets with differect specs. Yay! Random pictah time: ^RM7 lunch. O.M.G. What was I thinking when I decided to take the whole roasted chicken thigh with the butt instead of just half of it??? ^Doing mask with cotton pad and egg white. Hidayah was in-charge.

Badminton Maniaz

Just came back from a badminton game. Gosh, why I feel like my skill getting worse everytime I play?? Another thing: Why the emoticon cannot move one? Ever since I seriously involved in badminton, I am so seriously attached to it. Wow!! Anyway, still doing my best in this sport. Right now I really need to train my stamina back as good as the old days. Cant catch my breathe when playing single badminton, not even 10 points I already give up because i feel as if my nose not functioning and my lung cant get any air from outside Feel so weak But I have this problem when I start running (even in slow pace).. Mayb bcoz I dono the proper way to control my breathe, I get tired easily and some slight pain on my knee... Regarding that matter, I got some advices from the lyn forumers; anyway, to make it 'come true', that really need to trigger my semangat first. Kekekek! boh bien! Right now perlis is so damn hot neh!!! I'm melting!!!!!!!! Still got one more week to go!!!...

Sukan Inter College (SIC) 2008

Image
I joined badminton of Sukan Inter College (SIC) last saturday. One word - SHIOK! It's been almost a year since my last badminton game - ever since I entered Uni. Luckily the skills didn't leave me behind, I'm still going headstrong. Wakakkakakak! The game is held at SK Seberang Ramai, near my hostel. Oh, btw, SIC means we fight between kolej kediamans (fyi UniMAP has about 8 hostels throughout Perlis). Our team is combination of KKB and KKE, another hostel at Kuala Perlis as well. The courts are quite nice, the light is nice, the floor is nice, the ventilation is nice (Is it any ventilation?? not sure =p), etc.. I joined woman single and mixed double categories. This kind of activities are where the uni coaches do their selection for new players, and I'm glad the manager asked for my name and contact. Wakakakkakak! My team mates' ga chang MINE! I eventually won all the categories that I took part, most of the reason is because my opponents are q...
